Region
Finland
ACE is located in Otaniemi, Finland - the largest technology, innovation, and business hub in northern Europe. Otaniemi itself is located in Espoo (Finland's second-largest city) and within eight kilometres (15 minutes by car) from the capital, Helsinki. Otaniemi features a mix of world-class research organisations, academic institutions, and over 800 companies ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations - including the global headquarters of Nokia, Kone, Fortum, Neste Oil, Huhtamaki, Tekla, and Rovio (the makers of "Angry Birds") - operating on a four-square-kilometre campus. Meanwhile, over 8,500 ICT cluster companies and more than 12,000 knowledge-intensive business service providers can be reached within 15 minutes. The companies in these two fields alone account for over 140,000 high-value jobs. Twice selected by the EU as one of the most innovative regions in Europe, Otaniemi is a community of over 32,000 people with 16,000 students and 16,000 technology professionals from 110 different countries.
